Sharon Ditchburn

Founder and Managing Director

Sharon Ditchburn is the Founder and Managing Director of Capital Advantage (Dubai) and a Founder and Partner of Compliance Forte LLP (ADGM). She is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, The Chartered Governance Institute (UK), CPA Australia, and serves on the Centre of Excellence ESG Committee for CPA Australia. She holds accounting and legal qualifications from Australia, and an MBA specialising in Corporate Governance, Entrepreneurship and Strategy. She is one of the few individuals in the GCC certified by the IFC/World Bank to deliver their Director Development Programmes, and has been delivering Corporate Governance, Board and Secretariat advisory and training programmes throughout the GCC, Africa and Asia since 2005.

Sharon also works in the compliance and risk fields and has held Authorised Individual and Key Individual status with numerous DFSA regulated entities since 2007, including investment banks, brokerages, trust companies, wealth managers and a stock exchange. Sharon is also a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a committee member of CPA Australia Dubai branch for 10 years and is an Honorary Professor at Hult University. She is a recipient of the Solvi Stenbro Prize in Ethics (QUT).

Afroditi Boura

Senior Compliance Manager and Senior Risk Manager

Afroditi Boura is a member of the Association of Professionals of Regulatory Compliance of Greece, a member of the Economic Chamber of Greece, and a Certified Compliance and Risk Manager from the EU. Afroditi holds a BA from the University of Piraeus in Greece and certification for ISO31000:2018 as Risk Professional and as Trainer.

Afroditi has been registered as an Authorised Individual by the DFSA since 2017 and by the CMA in Kuwait since 2019 and has worked with a broad range of regulated entities in Middle East and Europe including insurance and reinsurance, healthcare, oil and energy, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, wholesale, brokerages, financial institutions, construction, telecommunication, and automobile.

Afroditi also has wide experience at senior management level with government-owned enterprises in the GCC and Europe.

Ece Briscoe

Senior Compliance Manager
Capital Advantage

Ece Briscoe is an experienced Lawyer and Compliance Manager with more than 15 years of legal experience, in the Middle East, UK and Turkey, including roles as senior lawyer, in-house legal counsel, Anti Money Laundering and Compliance Officer.

Ece is a DFSA authorized Compliance Officer and has broad experience in preparation of corporate governance frameworks and documentation for listed and regulated entities, covering the industry sectors of financial services and telecommunications, as well as government owned investment bodies. Also, Ece’s role includes Company Secretarial duties for DIFC entities and private companies.

Ece is registered on the Istanbul Bar where she originally obtained her legal qualifications and holds a Bachelor of Law, Graduate Diploma in Law, Commercial Law and European Law.

Aidan O’Mahony

Senior Consultant - Banking and Financial Services

Aidan is a Business Studies graduate from Bournemouth University, he started his career in recruitment straight from university, joining and then going on to lead a Financial Services Compliance desk in London for 4 years. He has come to know his market extensively and dealt and placed with project managers through to a number of C-Suite level clients across the UK. His speciality has come in the placement of large scale operational redress and remediation programmes at a number of top tier UK banks, notably in the area of KYC/CDD where Aidan has single handed resourced and screened programmes of up to 80 Consultants onsite through a Managed Service. Outside of this he has supported a number of largescale Financial Crime change projects at the majority of UK and single placement roles ranging from Head of Compliance to Analyst level. Aidan is best positioned to ensure your organisation has the personnel required to ensure your regulatory commitments are adhered to in an ever changing landscape.
